Very delayed response, but I did read this last month. Amazon even got it to me a day early.
I enjoyed it but have to admit I was somewhat disappointed that the Tower of Genji was only about 3-4 chapters near the end of the book. Really had though Mat would be in the book a lot more then he was.
You can definitely tell the Last Battle is ready to spring at any moment now, so it's reassuring to see that the books are finally at that point. I'm even enjoying Brandon Sanderson's style of writing more then Robert Jordan's.. yay for not mentioning the dragon scepter every 2.4 seconds!
If you guys haven't read Wheel of Time... I think it's totally worth it. The last book should be out next fall. It's a very long and involved series with more characters then you can imagine but after about the first 80-100 pages of book one it entraps you and you get totally caught up with the world.
edit: Just thought to add, if you don't want to get sucked into a 14 book long series, check out Brandon Sanderson's mystborn triology, they're really nice reads as well. He's the author who's finishing up the last few WoT books and the man really knows how to write a great fantasy story.
